I think Glogging sounds fascinating! I'm not sure how it would work in our district though. Computer time can be very difficult to get. The school houses 4 grades 5 - 8 and they got rid of a computer lab. I can think of some cool history/writing uses for it though. Actually, blogging might work better for my students. Question: Do parents ever refuse to allow their child go use the glog? What then? Plus it seems that some of this depends on having a computer at home and some of mine do not.

  1. I'm just hoping that I can get my principal to agree to this because I think it's a really great idea! Some of my kids don't have computers either, but I can schedule time in the lab so that a home computer isn't necessary.

  2. This is one of my main concerns also. Very few of my students have computers in their homes. Although if I bring this into my second grade classroom, it would all be done as a guided time with the computers in the room. So many ways to view each lesson.

  3. You may have more students with home access than you think. For those who don't maybe they have library access? Ask and go from there.

  4. To answer the question about parents refusing access to the glog, our students and parents sign a form at the beginning of the school year basically granting permission for the students to use the Internet for lessons.

I would say if you have particular concerns, make a type of permission slip that parents need to sign before you begin the assignment.

Also, keep in mind that GlogsterEdu allows the teacher to control who sees the glogs.

    Hope this answers your question.
