I think that it is important that in light of the challenges we are facing in choosing research topics, we keep the difficulties in mind when expecting our students to do the same choosing.
I chose the title "IQ" in the stead of "inquiry questions" in order to garner more views :-)

ReplyDeleteI have learned during these past days to have the perspective that our students have when we give an assignment. Now if only we could let our students get a true perspective of a teacher? Maybe!
ReplyDeleteAngel and I discussed the topic of finding ourselves in the student role again. It certainly refreshes the emotions involved:

-The flip-flop in your stomach when the instructor says: research paper.
-The sense of being overwhelmed.
On the other hand, this class has already provided techniques to break tasks into non-threatening, doable pieces. THANKS INSTRUCTORS EXTRAORDINAIRE!
