Lori's demo

I really like the greeting cards. I can see lots of uses for them in my class. I would like to try to use it to practice theme. Also my students always make cards for the veterans for Veteran's Day. This might be an interesting way to do it.

I also liked the talk about language differences within our state. Whenever I teach figurative language, I am surprised by some of the idioms that my students have that I have never heard of! By your students you are taught!

  1. I also find dialects fascinating! I loved traveling through Maine and trying to pick up their dialect. I make a hobby of trying to "get" accents. So far I've only mastered two perfectly: The voice of the Grand High Witch from Roald Dahl's "The Witches", and the voice of a short, furry character named Ug with a leaning toward an Irish accent.

  2. When I took college classes here long, long ago, two of my professors provided similar information. And still the result of the information places south-east in the realm of idiocy. We are not idiots! We are intelligent people.
