This morning, I offered some online resources for helping you put together your Annotated Bibliography (which is due next Thursday). Here are a few I mentioned:
- The Purdue Owl Writing Center has excellent explanations and sample works for you to look at.
- The Diana Hacker Website demonstrates how to cite a wide variety of sources in MLA style.
- Easybib is just one of many Citation Generators.
Furthermore, Sherrie reminds us that the last couple of chapters of Reading Rhetorically is a fabulous resource for dealing with the "how to's" of MLA style (especially in dealing with the in-text attribution and the formatting of "hanging indents.")
Feel free to add a comment if you have additional questions or resources.
These are excellent resources, especially the Purdue OWL. This is one of the best writing websites because it covers almost everything related to academic writing. And the two papers by the former SI students provides a model for what we're shooting for in our papers. Very helpful. Thanks, Don!
ReplyDeleteThanks Don for the great information. This has been extremely helpful. Writing my paper may not be a "snap", but citing the sources should be. I'm now underway doing some critical reading of my resources.
ReplyDeleteThis was actually kind of fun. It helped me focus on the important material within the pieces. The small stuff (putting things where they belonged) was actually harder. Thanks for helping me with alignment!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Reading Rhetorically as a resource. It will be on classroom shelf and used frequently. Just in case we don't have access to the websites.
