Kaye, please blog your love letter to writing! Be confident, woman. Sylvia, the restroom stall inscription from first floor Ellis reads----"Watch with glittering eyes the world around you. The most extraordinary things exist where you least expect it. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it" (R. Dahl)---- and should interest you! We love Roald Dahl. So, my point is this: all of you read his "adult" stories for an uproariously fun evening. Also, since we are working on citing sources, I have a tie-in to the quote. The quote has not been checked; source of it is dubious at best.
Thank you to Tina for a merry morning of masterpiece creations! Good luck to all of us on our papers due next week!
Does anyone have a detailed list of awesome learning moments from AWP this summer that he/she is willing to share?
My Dearest Composition,
ReplyDeleteThe past four weeks has been an amazing journey. We started as flirtatious, acquaintances--almost strangers and ended up being inseparable. I think of you always. You are in my dreams at night and then again when I awake. Forever begging me to join you. Round and round my brain you seep. My heart aches to pick up where we leave off. Longing desire to end the last conversation and begin the next. Rich descriptions. Vivid memories. Fear fills me when I think there isn't enough time to absorb all you offer. I don't want you to ever leave me. I want to curl up with you and create. I look at everything with eyes anew. Flowers are no longer beautiful but vibrant and deliciously fragrant. Temperature is more than just hot---sweltering, sizzling, sapping my energy; or cold---frigid, numbing, sub zero chill.
I feel this journey we started will lead us to many places; foreign, exotic and then return us safely to the comfort and security of home. Preparing for the next time inspiration strikes our fancy. You mesmerize me and I am captured by your seduction. Dare I say the words after 20 short days? Yes! Yes, I will be bold. I love you and desire you to share my life forever---
With fondest sincerity,
K
