I liked the book making. I have made them in the past, but have always used "boring" white paper. Using decorated or colored paper would be way cooler plus I could do units that way. I also liked the poetry with the art. Good way to get the students to see great art and read at the same time.
Thanks Eileen! My students really got into the book making. Really, the sky's the limit. I will bring the cool paper I spoke about in case anybody would like to make some sort of a cover - or not.
ReplyDeleteI would like a copy of the book ideas. I am always on the lookout for new books to make for and with my kids.
ReplyDeleteI think that I too will use the bookmaking in class. I did something similar last year, but the ease of binding makes me think this could work nicely.
ReplyDeleteThis really was nice to do. I'm sure I will use this in my class. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Laurie's lesson immensely :) When the students take time to make a nice book, I think they'll want to put their best work in it and show it off. There are times we need a more calm and soothing environment with our students. I know I did today. I also began a poem about love that seems promising. Outstanding presentation!!
